Full Day Highlights of Istanbul

Operating Schedule & Pick-Up

This full-day shore excursion operates daily, with pier pick-up at 8:30 or 9:00 AM from the Istanbul cruise ship port. A private van or minivan will provide complimentary pick-up and drop-off for your comfort.

Discovering Istanbul

In one day, you will discover Istanbul — a city that served as the capital of two great empires between 330 A.D. and 1923. Your journey begins at the magnificent Hagia Sophia, over 1500 years old and once the largest church in the world until the construction of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Topkapi Palace

You will then explore the Topkapi Palace, the former residence of the Ottoman sultans and headquarters of the empire. Here, you will step into the mysterious Harem and admire priceless treasures such as the Spoonmaker’s Diamond and the Topkapı Dagger. (Please note: Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and will be replaced with the Istanbul Archaeology Museum.)

Blue Mosque & Hippodrome

Next, marvel at the elegance of the Blue Mosque, famous for its dazzling blue İznik tiles, stained glass windows, and six slender minarets. Continue on to the Hippodrome, once the center of cultural, political, and sporting life in the city since the 3rd century, where you will see monuments such as the ancient Egyptian Obelisk dating back to the 15th century B.C.

Grand Bazaar

Your final stop will be the world-renowned Grand Bazaar, a bustling marketplace that has operated since the 15th century and today houses more than 4,000 shops. (Please note: The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays; additional time will be spent at nearby locations.)

Meeting Point & Duration

The meeting point can be arranged at the cruise ship port, hotel, rail or bus station, a monument, or any central address, depending on your preference. Please be aware that the tour duration may be affected by weather or traffic conditions.
